Conn Smythe: He won this trophy once as a member of the Edmonton Oilers in (1983-84).

He guaranteed a win against the New Jersey Devils in Game 6 in the 1994 NHL Eastern Conference final and they did. Messier ended up scoring a hat trick in the third period and went on to beat New Jersey and win their first (New York Rangers) Stanley cup since 1940.
